I popped into what I suppose is the nearest thing to a nursery here yesterday to buy some pots, the lady who runs it came over and dragged me off to see these 3 plants she had bought back from Saigon. I bought all 3 as they are lovely[ and a red thats not bloomed yet], the bloom is nearly 7 inches and there are allot of buds. The leaves are quite thick and it does not look like your normal Garden Hibiscus, what do you think, Garden or Tropical, and if Tropical what cv.

Hey David those look pretty nice, maybe too nice to be garden hibs.  Here is a picture of the typical garden hibiscus that is everywhere on Oahu.  Seems like Hula Girl is the preferred choice there, they even use it as a center divider on major streets.

Seems similar to yours but ruffled and the eye is doesn't show any pinwheeling like yours do.

Hope it helps!
