This bloom surprised me today, really pretty and not what I expected from this CV.  Good luck guessing on which one it is...

Great guesses so far...but not the correct answer yet.

I can say that this CV was not introduced until New Years Day this year and the name is just one word starting with a letter in the second half of the alphabet.

I got a sneaky feeling Charlie didn't offer too many of these from the start but would love to know who else has it too...

Good tries, everybody. I couldn't figure this one out either until Farmer D gave the hints. It's Picante, although somewhat sun fried in Darren's garden pic. Below are photos of Picante, Sizzle, and Prosperity from the shaded part of the greenhouse.

Right on Charlie!!!

Now the one thing about this bloom that is really surprising is that it opened with these colors.  At first look at the pics I would also think it is sunfried but it started this way and surprisingly kept these colors all day.

I guess you could say it opened up sunfried...but what a pretty look that really brings out the eye.  Didn't know it could go so pink - very nice!

Here is a typical bloom I have been getting up until this one...and the hot, humid weather....

I just had a first bloom today on this new arrival from HVH. It's labelled as Newport Sunshine but does not look at all like what I expected from this cv. Any ideas what this one really is??? Its kind of a brownish orange color, faces smartly upright, and is a pretty good size of about 7 inches. Considering this is still a small plant in a pot and I usually grow blooms smaller than they are supposed to be I would think this is a large flowered cv.

Sorry about that Len. It's definitely not Newport Sunshine.

It's hard to say from that one photo which one of our new varieties it is. I think it's Red Light, a Saffron x Dragon's Breath offspring. Flowers are 8 inch plus on mature plants with good form and intense color.

Below is a photo for comparison.
