Just received a tub of each and after reading through the forum I am not quite sure how often I should use these.  From what I have read, should I add a 1/2 tsp of each to every gallon of water and use this everyday?  Or is that too often?

What it actually says on this site is half teaspoon to every gallon, it would depend on you if you water every day, as for when they are mixed together best to let Charlie answer as I don't know.

I will be very interested to see how you get on with the Booster starting from new as I have just ordered some myself, I know Darren has some amazing results but his are in the ground and he is some sort of phenomenon with his 40 bud a day Chariots of Fire etc hihi.

The main reason I will be interested is that I have been totally Organic for about a year now, not really through choice but its what I could get sent on the aeroplane at the time. Charlie kindly wrote to me privately and explained what I needed to be looking for and I ended up buying this Organic product that was highly recommended for Palms with an NPK of 4-1-5, it did also mention Hibiscus on the label so I was happy. I have to say I now have beautiful healthy plants but my blooms have got smaller and smaller, so I am hoping with the Booster I can start to make them bigger.

I have the houseplant formula.  I was using the individual stuff for a while, but thought I would switch it up.  I use it once a week, but I know there are some that use it every or every other day in a small dose, but don't quote me on that.  I would like to know if it would benefit me to start an every day or every other day regimen also?  My weather here is bizarre!  One week cold and rain in the high 50's, next week hot humid and in the high 80's.  My plants are so confused!  They are all outside, and showing signs of madness.  Some are being troupers, but most are giving me the middle finger yellow leaf!

Kristen, the Houseplant Formula is an excellent de-stressor (for the hibs Smiley) so I wouldn't be concerned about using it with every watering. Hibiscus like steady conditions, steady nutrition, etc.

BayouBiscusLover, try using the HVH Special blend at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water every time you water. Then once every 2 weeks also add 1 teaspoon of Booster per gallon of water. There are as many ways to use these as there are people doing it but the above is a good safe way to get started and to get results!

That's exactly what's going on here, too... Crazy weather! Tongue

Haha, yes David, I did get your comment.... my hand is soooo Tiny!  You should see it in person, freakish actualy.  haha.  Sorry I didn't respond, I did have a great wiseass comment for you, but forgot to comment.  I have been so busy lately, that I just browse the forum briefly to keep me from going insane with all the photo work I have had.  Its nice to see what everyone is showing and asking about.  Helps break up the day.  Soon I will have time to get back here full time.  I have another wedding to shoot this weekend, after that, Im back!!

But yeah, the blooms were really big and beautiful.  But remember, Saffron is the one hib that behaves the best for me.  It is the only one that IS blooming!  Everyone else is scared and hiding.  Shaking their heads at me >:/  They all have one or two yellowish leaves.  along with no buds.  Now that the sun is back out and it is warm, they are all wilty to add to all that!  Its a full time job.

And again, thanks for the compliment on the pretty blooms, hopefully I will be able to share more soon.  I will start to use Charlies recommendation now.  Hopefully they will snap out of it!

Its amazing and sort of sums up the pleasure in growing Hibiscus on how you can have such a fantastic Saffron and me the opposite, bit like my Pocahontas, why is it so nice and different than the others we see, or why does Darren have that amazing Chariots of Fire. Anyway after seeing your Saffron I decided drastic action needed to be taken with mine [terrible shaped bush, hardly blooms and am covinced there is something wrong with it],  I don't suppose in a million years living in Vietnam I would get a bloom that size, but what I can create is a lovely bush, I have done this before with a cv I am not happy with and had great results, and to me being able to display a lovely shaped bush in a nice pot sort of compensates a little for bloom size.

Oh wow David!  Haha, good luck with that one.  Sometimes that is needed to whip it into shape!  Luckily I received a beautifully started bush to begin with.  I have trimmed it up once, but not drastically like you.  Maybe this fall I will give it a good haircut.  I think that will be my plan for the fall, give them all a good prune to make it easier for the winter storage.  They are only getting bigger after all!
