Arg!!!  I have been on the waitlist for this cv and got a notification it was available yesterday.  I just checked my email and it's already sold out.  Sad  Do you guys have any more?

Thanks,
Jordan

Hi Jordan,

Sorry about that! Cindy tells me she sent out only 1 notification more than there were plants. OTOH, there are a few more that were too small to offer yet. Early July for those?

Charlie, is it normal for the bloom to last only one day?

Laura, blooms vary in the time they last. Environment can affect them so sometimes they last one day and other times 2 or more days. That said, each variety has its tendency to be a longer or shorter lasting bloom and I would say Heavy Metal is in the middle with 2 days being typical in my growing situation.

Charlie, does this one root on its own?  Does it set seed or have good pollen?  Is it among one of your Tried and True?

Yes to all. What it does not do well is grow vigorously. It blooms prolifically - the one in our garden was showing color on 5 buds and had 3 open flowers just the other day. It comes from 5th Dimension which is also a prolific bloomer but not a great grower. sigh........the colors of the blooms are superb, must be seen to fully appreciate.

Can anyone tell me if HM has any issues with branching?  I'm trying to figure out if I need to prune mine soon as it has been a little bit on the slow side for growing which is mentioned above by Charlie.

SN sprayed it with all my other hibs but not one new branch so far.  Seems like a candidate for some pinching/pruning but I don't know if that is a good route if it is not vigorous.  Maybe another season of patience.

Some pics of Heavy Metal blooms - always very nice.

Maybe my question above got missed before but does anyone have a good idea if Heavy Metal has issues branching on it's own?  I'm about to prune but need to know before I do it.  SN spraying hasn't had any effect on this plant.

Below is a plant shot as of today.
