David, just based on the photos you have posted it seems that some of the varieties really like the tropical heat you have and thrive in it. Melon Melange looks like one of them. I look forward to seeing how all of your varieties do over time.

Beautiful!

My Waknisha plug fell out of the pot as soon as I unwrapped it.  I dont think mine was very well rooted, I am hoping it makes it Sad

I will have a CG pic to post later, when it opens all the way Smiley

Nice Blooms everyone!  I have been getting some newbie delights!! It is great being new at this for one reason, every bloom is a new experience to me.  I have never had hybrids before, so these are so extreme to me, and now, a bunch of my small babies are blooming for the first time and it is so much fun!  Today I have a beautiful Albo.  Let me just say that the delicate Albo is a sight to behold.  I way underestimated this one.  On a scrawny stick, I got what I show you today.

Then.... Woah!  Space Oddity!!!  Speechless.  They made a nice couple... I pollinated Albo with Space Oddity.

Cindy's Heart Day 1 & 3 of the same 2 blooms.  I think I may have loaded day one in the November blooms because there was no December created yet, or maybe not...  Cant remember.  Anyway, here they are.

Every time I see a new one open up for me... I think, now that one is my favorite... So because of the colors, Space Oddity and Voodoo Magic is now my favorite.  But then again....

What are yours?

Ah very nice CH, it is a slow grower for me, but the bush has filled in nicely after a big prune, so its looking like a good year next spring/summer!

Great pics, do you have any others you are waiting to see?

Cosmic Gold today, pretty interesting the difference putting the heater on at night makes Smiley

I am waiting to see many.  And it is so exciting.  Although Space Oddity was one of the ones most anticipated, so it was nice of her to not keep me waiting.  BTW, she is still just a kid.  4" pot and only about a foot tall... I know I know, I shouldn't have let her bloom, but do you blame me??

I am also waiting on My Blue Heaven, Gator Pride, Gabriel, Misbehavin, The Path, Moonstruck, Sleeping Beauty, City Slicker, Byron Metts, 5Th Dimension, Cherry Appaloosa, Black Dragon, & Acapulco Gold.

Here is a second day photo of Space Oddity along with some first day photos of Simple Pleasures.  SP took a break for a couple months, but I think she is back!  I put some 2nd day old Space Oddity pollen on her...

Chris, I just saw this comment. Anytime something like that happens please write to office@hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com and let us know. It's always hard to discover whether it happened in packing, shipping, or unpacking but I can tell you that it had roots showing at the bottom of the pot when selected. Cuttings don't develop nice leaves or side growth without adequate roots so it's easy for us to tell when young ones are rooting well. Anyway, for sure we will get you a new one if needed. Next time we ship something to you let me or office know how the original one is doing and if it's not looking good we will put another one in with a future shipment. Right now Wakanishas are all shipped or too small so we're probably talking spring for a replacement. Sorry for the disappointment!
