So I realized that it didn't make sense to talk about seedlings in the proposal thread, so perhaps you can move them here Charlie.

But I thought it would be cool to start a thread so we could see the status of our favorite new seedlings and this would also give you a good idea as to which ones are standouts to your customers (us!)

So for me my favorites:

BTBW x Midnight blue (star spangled banner)

Living Legend x Johnny Reb (Lion heart)

Moonstruck x Denim Revolution

Nice idea, Chris. The seedlings disappear into propagation once the wood on the plant is firm enough to attempt to root it. That takes 6-10 weeks or so. The ones you selected are all beginning that process.

BTBW x Midnight blue (star spangled banner) - waiting for the wood to firm up. Neither parent roots but you never know for sure without trying. For example, Love Story's parents don't root either but it is a good rooter.

Living Legend x Johnny Reb (Lion heart) - waiting for the wood to firm up

Moonstruck x Denim Revolution - just stuck the first cuttings this week

Doll, Electric Red is a year ahead of the ones Chris selected. It has already rooted and the second generation has grown enough for me to take cuttings off of. If all goes well it will be offered when the 2011 store opens in January. I like this one a lot, too.

Oh I hope that the blue one roots Smiley  Perhaps graft a few SSB also when the wood is hard enough, that one needs to get out there! Smiley

Grafting the first wood of a new seedling is the traditional way to do it. I sometimes still do, like with Zulu Warrior. But, I need to know if they will root so give them that chance first and then graft second like with Denim Revolution.

Chris, I can't find the seedling being referred to. Maybe I posted a photo of the one below that is CCacaoxMoon Madness somewhere. It's grown into a nice big bush with 8 inch flowers. I'm trying to root it now. Different colors. Also below is another one with new colors for me in a double flower. It's Living Legend x Longhorn Pride.

I'm hoping Desert Fire, Mai Tai, Sea of Tranquility, Lionheart and Lemon Drop make it to the shop soon.

Of course there are probably a few others that I can't remember  Grin

That LLxLP looks very nice. Just out of interest how is your testing and valuation going on Lionheart,we all know the bloom is lovely but know it has to meet other criteria before you will put it on sale, so hows it going.

Charlie, I just came across an old post where you mentioned a seedling named sherlock' mystery. I couldn't find anything else on it. Did it make it to the store?

Not yet. Sherlock's Mystery will be in the new January 2011 store when it opens, if all goes well with the cuttings that have already been stuck. It's a medium size flower (6-8 inches) but the color glows in a nice way that I think some will like.
