Does anyone have a complete list of the tried and true varieties?  I'm still pretty new to growing the exotic hibiscuses, so I figure I should stick to purchasing the tried and true for now.

Hi Chops

Here is what I can remember being on the list:

High Voltage
Creme da Cacao
Belle du Jour
Saffron
Palm Springs
Rainbow Sherbet
Valentines Day
Hot Pepper
White Lightning
Hot Wired
Fabulous
Heavy Metal
Love Story
Chariots of Fire
Acapulco Gold
Night Magic
Bridal Path
Fat Actress
Cinnamon Girl
Living Legend
Melon Melange
Simple Pleasures
Rosalind
Venetian Brick
Heaven Scent
First Lady might also be on there but I am not sure.

Good Newer Varieties from my experience:

Cosmic Gold (really nice growing young plant, flower lasts three days and has great form and color)
Flickering Flame (Great flowers, Really nice bush)
Bonnie Lass (Nice bush, good bloomer)

I think this is a pretty good list to get you started Smiley

Thank you so much, Helixturnhelix!  This list is much longer than I thought it was going to be.  So far, I have 3 that are on your list with the exception of my Torch Song.  I'm crossing my fingers that does well for me.

Hi Chops,

You really cant go wrong with those varieties.  I havent grown Torch Song, but it is supposed have a more beautiful bush than its kin Rockets Red Glares, which I do have.  RRG has a great flower, so if you ever get the chance grab it Smiley  Ive found that TLC goes a long way and as long as you like the flower, you could probably grow it.

Good list, Chris. I don't have much to add except that several other new ones show good promise to join the list. The more I cross T&T with other T&T the more variations on a good theme come about.
