Dragons Heart. It has took its time coming[its took about 4 days for the bud to open] but am very pleased it has.  David.

David, Congratulations on that fine looking bloom. It's not Dragon's Breath, it's Dragon's Heart, an offspring of Dragon's Breath. I'm very pleased that you got these deep colors in the heat of Vietnam since Dragons Heart is darker and more maroon for us in our cooler weather and more cherry red in hot summer. Could be the way you are fertilizing that makes a difference. In any case, it sure has good color.

And thanks for getting the July Flower Photos of the Day thread going. June set a new record for pages viewed in the forum - lots of people like to see what's happening with hibiscus around the world!

Thanks Charlie,i have changed it to Heart. This is one of the ones that is in the shade in the rockery i built, i take it out and give it 90 mins sun every morning.

Yes, we've heard from several people in Houston who say that High Voltage has done well for them there. It is one of the most reliable of the large flowered hibiscus in our experience in California, too.
