Hi Chris, I hope you check back once more before hitting the road. Drive safe and enjoy the vistas - you should pass through some of the most glorious countryside in the USA on your way to Seattle.
Here is the next group of seedling photos. Size is something I haven't tried to describe. Lots of these are big, bigger on average than in past years. Lots of 8 to 10 inch blooms although some minis, too. I'll get more info about all these over then next months.
The first one has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I may have shown it before, but yesterday's flower was a full 10 inches and the color glowing.

Wow Charlie, I like all of them, I will be out of contact for a two weeks as I am traveling and do not have internet at the new place yet. Yellowstone is one of the stops, and my dad already thinks im nuts for wanting to bring the plants into the hotel. Its supposed to be in the thirties at night there, so I need to keep them safe! I am looking forward to seeing what other goodies you will post after my cyber-fasting.

We will miss you Chris. And maybe you are a bit nuts, but it is nothing any of us here wouldn't do! Hey, I have been bringing all mine in at night and out in the morning for the past week and it has only been getting down to the low 50's... Have a beautiful journey, and bring your camera, it will be something you must share with us!

And Charlie, I love all the new ones, especially the first red one with a pink rim, the Saffron X DB along with the Moonstruck X HC. (I love anything that has to do with HC)!

Kristin, I totally agree with you about Haute Couture. In past years I have taken so much wood from the Haute Couture plants that I was never able to use it very often for hybridizing. That needs to change! As far as I can recall this is the first bloom that has come from an offspring of Haute Couture, and it sure is pretty. It is also remarkable that the colors did not fade much during the day, which is a common trait of offspring of Moonstruck (the other parent of this new seedling). Today on the second day for the bloom it is as flat and well formed as the first day and the colors just the same so far. I am crossing my fingers that the wood will root and that many plants can be propagated from it. Below is another photo of it from yesterday late afternoon.

Doll, I've long intended to develop more good, big yellow flowers like the Hot Pepper cross you picked out and now seem to have found the right parents to cross to get them. We're looking at maybe 20 promising ones so far and hope half a dozen will prove to be excellent in all the most important qualities of growing and blooming.
To my eye, the Blue Ballerina cross you noted is one of the most unique flowers I have seen this year. That alternating red and blue color pattern is special and stands out when seen in person. Here is another photo of it.

Charlie, I really like green hibiscus blooms. Did any of your crosses ever produce green seedlings?

Oh yes, I've had quite a few green tinted ones. Greenish flowers are unusual and don't sell well but for people who like the odd and different a greenish hibiscus fits the bill.
Of course hibiscus do not have a green gene that gives flowers the color of bright green leaves, for instance. But, you will find muddy green or yellow/gold green hibiscus blooms from time to time.
I have stuck cuttings of a few of these green tinted blooms this year and hope some plants will be available in January onward.
Below are some photos of green tinted blooms. Some of the seedling flowers posted already this year have a green tinge to them, too.

I zoomed thru all the seedling pics so haven't taken the time to pick out any favorites, but they all look great to me. Lots of interesting color combinations and patterns and gorgeous colors. That unk x unk you mentioned has a lot of interesting things going on in it. Even though it isn't richly colorful, I like it a lot. Afraid I've been into the U.S. Open tennis all week so I'm behind on checking out the forum. Oh, that double orange with a touch of yellow that you posted on Sept. 4th, Wow! what hot color and superb form!

Thanks for the comments, Dave. I watched some of the US Open, too. I'm amazed at how much women's tennis has improved since I played tournaments in the 60's. Racquets and strings are much better now, but so is physical conditioning.
Here are some more recent seedling photos.
