Hi Charlie, how's Arabian Princess coming along? It's rather pretty and I like the idea of large, three-lobed leaves

Arabian Princess has a beautiful bloom. The first round of propagation with her did not work out well, so I'm trying again. Looks like one for next spring instead of this spring....

I have a few big plants of Arabian Princess now, and am taking as many cuttings as I can for spring 2012 availability. The flowers have been consistently large, at about 8 inches, and the colors a very pretty combo of purples and browns. This photo is of a newly opened bloom in our living room where it has been blooming regularly near a big window for the last few weeks. In direct sun the colors become more muted but this is a realistic opening color pic.

Here's another pic of Arabian Princess showing the 8 inch flower and the interesting leaves. This remains one of my top favorite bloom/plants.

Charlie thanks for sharing this one! I bought one a few weeks ago and have been considering changing it out for something else. Looks like I made the right choice! Have you had a chance to hybridize with this one yet?

Chris, Arabian Princess is an excellent variety. I've been using it this winter to make seeds but of course have not seen any plants or flowers of the offspring yet. Everything happens in slow motion with hibiscus but eventually seeds sprout, plants grow, and flowers open...............

It seems like seeds to sprout to first leaves takes forever. Luckily, many I have growing are finally at the 4 - 6 inch tall stage, so let the 6 month countdown begin to first bloom!
I would very much like to see a pic of your houseplant AP, as that is how I will be growing mine
