Good eye, Helix! Not many people have Jack Mantel, one of Dale Dubin's last creations before he mostly retired from hibiscus to do medical research and writing. Nice bush and big flowers.

Dale peaked with 'Dragon's Breath' and 'Byron Metts' and hasn't done much since. He lost a lot of plants in a big hurricane that hit Florida and the structure over his growing area was damaged or destroyed, too. He has some heart problems and studies and writes about the heart even though he was a plastic surgeon when he practiced medicine. He once said that hybridizing was too addictive for him and if he stayed with it he wouldn't get anything else done! I know the feeling....  Smiley
