These have come on my new Hibiscus plants,[Acupolco gold and City Slicker], Acapulco Gold being nearly every new leaf, i have looked at the article written by Charlie on Chlorosis and these seem a bit different. I have checked the drainage and that seems ok allthough the soil is quite wet. The other 9 HV's are all in the same medium of 30% coco peat 30% clay and 40% sand and they seem ok at the moment.Any help or ideas please.

I'm not sure what this is but I have had similar problems before, meaning yellow veins but green in-between.  Not sure why this happens...

Looks like spider mites to me. If it spreads to any plants that it is not on now, suspect mites and take action since they will not go away until the defoliate all the hibiscus.

This is not chlorosis due to lack of iron uptake because that shows as green veins with yellowing between the veins and that is not what your photo shows.

I also recommend you familiarize yourself with the Yellow Leaf page on the HVH website because it was set up to help diagnose problems that show as yellow leaves. Since yellowing leaves are the way hibiscus react to many problems it is good to be aware of the causes and learn how to head off any problems. Here is the link - http://www.hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com/care/yellowleaves.htm

Good luck and let us know if you are unable to get some positive results.

Thank you for that Charlie.I have separated Acapulco Gold from the rest and give it a thourough jet wash,i have also brought it in out the monsoon rain and strong sun for a few days to help in case it is  stressed and its not mites[hope this is corect]. At the moment the HVs that where to its left and right don't appear to have a problem and i have ordered some Bayer 3 -1.Hopefully that should do the trick.

Hi David,

Hibiscus love rain and often look much better after a good rain but too much water flowing through a pot can leach many of the nutrients out of the potting soil and deprive the hibiscus of what it needs. The only solution is to apply more fertilizer from time to time.
