My first impression is Cindy's Heart, which has been at the top of my wish list for quite a while.

It does look like Cindy's Heart, but I don't think Chris could have one. We haven't had any for sale for the last 2 years, and only a very few before that.

You'll be glad to know that Cindy's Heart is a really slow grower, Dave.  That's why we don't get enough wood to propagate enough to get it up to production.  So when you finally do get one, you won't have to worry about it taking up much space. :-)

Its Tahitian Cherry Blossom.  I should be getting one next spring, it is supposed to be a compact grower and good bloomer.  Have you had experience with this one?

I think I might have to thin out my collection to only include slower growing varieties.  RRG and WD are both very compact and have fairly slow growth.  It also looks like Haute Couture is in the same category.  I am really interested in Cindy's heart too, because not many hibiscus have flowers that can last 4-6 days!  The slow compact growth is another plus:)

One in the incredible Tahitian series. I never had a chance to guess that one. It is a real beauty and would be on my buy list if Charlie offered it, but I'm really hoping for Cindy's Heart next year. I have the same space issues with my collection up to 49 plants and about a dozen on my ever growing wish list. I have about 6 very fast growers that are already getting large enough to dominate my small greenhouse so I'm going to try limiting my future purchases to slower compact growers. I'll probably trying moving those larger ones out into the landscape where they haven't done as well as in the greenhouse, and see what happens. I'm glad to hear that RRG and WD are very compact growers since they are both on the wish list. I also finally got Haute Couture after missing it a few times. Another great compact grower is Blonde Ambition and the blooms are huge. Just love this addiction.  lol

Chris and Dave, this is very interesting feedback for me. Thinking of compactness and slower growth in terms of how many plants can be overwintered or grown in limited greenhouse or house space changes the picture. Neither quality is associated with reluctant blooming or inferior blooms so I can see how they could be desirable in situations where space is at a premium. One way I can help is to try to include information about compactness and growth habit in the descriptions of the new varieties that go on the store. I already do to some extent but maybe we can rate the varieties as to how suitable they are for indoor growing. Food for thought, anyway.
