Greetings to all!
Accept in the numbers, expensive fans hibiscus.
I live in Russia. I have many colours. I write to you through the electronic translator as in perfection of English language I do not know. But, I hope, I will be clear about what I write.
Has looked your blossoming гибискусы. They charming. Such fantastic plentiful flowering! Super! Of many grades only I dream, to buy from us such not probably. But..... I have Something.

I agree great hibiscus and pictures

Here is wild dream , when it was opening I kind of freaked out because it looked like dancin dragon, but when it opened all the way it looks like wild dream but probably a cooler color form. ( its been cloudy in the am and cooler at night where I am at)

Thanks Kerry, it's nice to know when you're not alone! Ya, it's a real problem for me, I have way too much room for plants and I just keep going! I love making the rounds every day, seeing who's blooming, watching them change color during the day, even taking care of them doesn't bother me. Uh, well, in the winter hauling them in and out to protect them from the frost does get a little frustrating, but yet I still do it, there's just something about Hibiscus isn't there!

Kerry I do have an end of day pic for you but camera is out of batteries!  Grr, I will go get more and then post it.  DD faded to a soft pastel color, still pretty but nowhere near as dramatic as the opening colors.  It is still open today, too.

Hi Everybody,

Cindy and I are back from a visit to the San Francisco area. We had a great time, saw tons of Sea Otters, Seals, and Sea Lions on a tour of a part of Monterey Bay. Besides a busted pipe in the greenhouse all was well when we returned. For this Bloom of the Day thread I am attaching a few:
Firestorm - the brightest orange flower I've seen since Orange Magic, but this one blooms a lot with 8 inch flowers! 1st and 2nd day flower in this pic.
07-3324 - a surprise little 4-5 inch flower with unique colors, from the cross Midnight Blue x Blue President
Jewel of the Nile - this one looking very good with nice bushes grown from cuttings 6-7 inch flowers
Golden Dreams - nice yellow that is Dragons Breath x Wild Dream 7-8 inch flowers, the yellow coming from Rosalind probably (Harvest Moon as yellow great-grandparent).

Hope you enjoy them!

Charlie

Wow charlie those are really nice pics!  I really like firestorm, I think the name fits pretty good.  Did you name that seedling during the insane fires in San Diego a few years ago?

Well, not during the fires but they have come surprisingly close to us twice the last few years and are always in the back of our minds. Names don't always come easily. Lots of them are proposed but we don't settle on one until if feels right as a good match for the flower. Sometimes I accept one before I should and usually end up regretting it. Firestorm was not one of the hard ones - the intensity of the orange color called for a fiery name and Firestorm seems a good fit. I think this variety will become one of our best due to how much it blooms and how nice the plant is. The first round of propagation went well and if that keeps up we will have a decent supply for next year.
