Hey Charlie,

I just got my 4" Cinnamon Girl in the mail yesterday, and it already bloomed!  The bloom is really pretty, but it's probably not a Cinnamon Girl.  I think it might have been a mislabeled bloom.  What do you think this is?  I was initially thinking Swamp Music, but the colors are different, and much brighter than the Swamp Music I have.  Sorry, these photos were taken at dusk.  It's got a deep red eye, blue with white veins, a thin ring of pink with an orange/yellow edge.

This is kindof an exciting mystery... Smiley

Hi Jordan,

I can tell you with 90% certainty that it is 'space oddity'  The color scheme seems about right and the foliage is identical to my 'space oddity'.  Lucky you!  I think this cv is really cool Smiley

Yep, it's a 4" pot and I just got it yesterday!  You're probably right... it does look a lot like Space Oddity.  I missed it's opening colors, but it has another big bud that will probably be ready in a week or so.

Whoops. I found one 6 inch pot that was also tagged Cinnamon Girl but bloomed as Space Oddity. Hopefully, this is the last mistag of these varieties. You should write to Cindy at office@hiddenvalleyhibiscus about it.

Here is a photo I took yesterday of a Space Oddity bloom in full flight  Smiley

Oh man I really dont know what the probability of this happening again, to two people on this forum, but I bought a "cinnamon girl" at the HVH in may.  It just bloomed today and look at the bloom.  I will go ahead and e-mail cindy, but it makes sense that both our plants bloomed around the same time.  I really cant believe this happened after I wrote how many buds cinnamon girl has, mine was actually a space oddity.  Now I have two!

I guess that must have happened a couple of times.  I'm ok with it though.  I went ahead and ordered a Cinnamon Girl and kept the Space Oddity.  Good excuse for me to get yet another plant!  Tongue

The Cinnamon Girl I got this week is great, though.  There were three open blooms in the box and the plant was at least 2' tall!!   In a 6" pot nonetheless.  She's well budded and has since opened another bloom.

Hi Jordan,

She sounds really awesome, thats why I wanted her!  I'm sure this will be resolved, but I would really like to see some pics of an actual "cinnamon girl" if you got any Cheesy

Sure, I can take some tomorrow.  The bush is still kindof squished from being in the box, but you can definitely tell she's got some awesome qualities.  Lots of branches with lots of buds.  The three open flowers in the box did it for me!  Hopefully the bloom that opened yesterday will still be open in the morning, so I can get a photo of the flower too.  My Blackjack bloomed for the first time today too! Cheesy

Wow Jordan, she is covered in blooms!  On a small bush none the less, unless the scale is off and your hands are alot bigger than it looks.  Thanks for sharing
