So I have chris's satsuma at my bfs house. I went there yesterday and satsuma had a bloom. I looked at it closely and the petals where unbelievably thick, so thick it felt like cartilage  Cheesy I also noticed that the pollen was old old .... So I asked my bf was this the same bloom he sent me a pic of via cell phone , he said yes. So this means this bloom was opened for 7 days in full blast sun and we have been having 80 degree weather this week!

I will get pic up in a few , I am on my iPad lol.

I noticed light colored spots / imperfections on one or more of the photos on the "Satsuma" page. Is this normal or unusual? I have a "Satsuma" mandarin which has fruit ready to harvest and the color is very vivid. Is the hybrid Satsuma color truely similar? Hard to tell from the photos. It would be amazing if it is even close.

Can you imagine the day someone can hybridize a fruit bearing hibiscus - then you'll know anything is possible.... Grin

Pretty color, Kerry, and I see that the Fascinating Foliage is holding up well on this one.

Wow Kerry. Unbelievable color and form for a 7th day flower.

Charlie so far the older FF  I have, have the same leaves not sure when I should see a change ? Pinot Noir , Fall Leaves ,  African Princess, Wakanisha to name a few older ones. I think Hazelnut also is older. The rest are younger that I got from Chris. I will get pictures of each one tomorrow hopefully.

Erny I know ! I was really shocked to see it in such great form. The texture was so thick like cartilage.

Kerry, outstanding color. Your photo looks the same as my Satsuma mandarin skin. I ordered it.

Kerry, hopefully you will not see many leaf changes. It is good to know that the FF you have are showing consistency with their foliage.

Ok I took pictures but left CF card at bfs D'oh !

Anyways I did look at all the FF closely. So far Pinot Noir is the only one with some top leaves that are not totally lobed. They have a weird shape but they look like they are forming into semi regular leaves.
