are the hibiscus' that are sold on the HVH online store perennial type ?  I live in VA. and in the winter months it gets in the 20's and 30's.  Thks

Hi Steve,

We specialize in Hibiscus rosa-sinensis hybrids which are tropical in origin and will not survive repeated exposure to temperatures down in the 20's. That said, we ship these plants to all 50 states and have many Canadian customers as well. They make great potted plants in those areas and are moved into houses and greenhouses during winter where they continue to grow as green plants and may also flower some if there is enough light.

The 2011 online store will open on January 1, 2011 with many new varieties as well as favorites from past years. Although plants are added all year the selection on January 1 is the largest selection in the store each year. Plants ordered then are shipped when the weather permits in spring.
