I don't want to jinx this one by prematurely starting a topic for it but of all my CVs this one by far has had the most aggressive and beautiful bush growth I've experienced from the start. So far this makes my monster Chariots of Fire bush seem average in comparison. It is currently budding up like crazy and is already over 3 feet tall (got it as a 2' six incher) a few months back. I would suspect in a few more weeks the buds will be blooming and this one looks to be very impressive. A very full, lush, dark green bush with beautiful mahogany colored branching.  Farmer D |

From what I've seen so far, Prosperity shoots up tall and then puts out a huge number of side branches naturally. Bold and Beautiful does something similar. Here's the photo of Prosperity, which is a cross of Simple Pleasures and Cosmic Gold.

::)Charlie this CV is magnificent!! The bush is ultra lush and buds like I've never seen before. And now that I have blooms for the first time I am very satisfied with Prosperity. Probably my favorite now out of all of my hibiscus when you factor in everything from bush to bloom to budding. First two blooms...   Farmer D |

Lots more pretty blooms to share. After going through it's first heat wave my Prosperity definitely showed the stress. I'm pretty sure it has spider mites too so as a result it has lost it's dark green hue, has thinned out somewhat and the blooms are pretty much mini size. But the parade of buds just keeps on coming.
It is in a semi shady spot with a rose tree above it and my strawberry guava tree blocking a lot of the afternoon sun in front of it. It is in a planter next to my driveway so it does pick up a lot of heat from the concrete.
Just love this CV and anyone approaching my porch will be greeted by these lovely blooms - total showcase spot and the perfect CV for it.

Very nice Darren. Can I ask is a planter a big plant pot? Its not a term used in England so I am unsure, if it is did you make up a potting mix or did you use the magic soil out of your garden.
I assume after your setback with COF you are back on the high feed and Potash diet, I have been trying with mine with varying success, Acapulco and Cosmic Gold thrive with it where as Bridal Path and Thanksgiving aren't so keen, still its all still a big learning process and overall I am very pleased with all the changes I made.

David it is nothing more than a rectangular cut hole in our cement driveway next to my mailbox. Both Prosperity and Simple Pleasures are planted in ground there. I used the existing soil and just made some really big holes to fill in with some organic planting mix so the root ball drains well.
The high feed diet continues as I await my Kontos delivery which I will carefully mix in with the feedings. The tricky part will be how to account for the Kontos being washed below the root level and still be enough to be effective. Again some experimenting will be done there.
So much to learn still...

As you know Darren I am no expert but I cant see the fact your plants are in the ground making much of a difference as far as the Kontos is concerned. Part of my reasoning being is that I never altered my dosage or amount given when I moved my cv's to much larger pots and still had the same success.
I did at first do as you are going to do and mix it in with the food, but now I don't, I just on a Sunday feed the Kontos on its own, I had a few problems mixing it [causing bubbles etc] and was worried I wasn't getting an exact teaspoonful of Kontos with each gallon, it especially froth's up if you mix it with Supernova.
I mix 2 teaspoons of Kontos with 14 teaspoons of water and then add a teaspoon to each of my 16 gallon of water, with this I feed everything in the garden.

Some updated shots of this CV. It has been blooming as prolifically in winter as it was during summer. This is my all around best hibiscus plant I have so far out of 70+.
